Launch of African Youth Development Summit website

Dear All,

NAYD and its partners the World Assembly of Youth, ABC4All, African Views, African Youth Decade Alliance, Organisation of African Youth, African Youth Panel and the African Youth Initiative on Climate Change are delighted to announce the launch of the summit 2013 website at  http://www.naydsummit2013.org/. Here you will find out what the summit is all about as well as access the registration and abstract application forms. Our aim is to invite at least 3 youth sustainable development experts from each African country. We encourage you to complete the forms and be involved in this unique youth-led summit in Addis, culminating on African Youth day November 1st when we hope to set out a roadmap on achieving a youth-led sustainable future for Africa. The ratification and implementation of the African Youth Charter will be an essential ingredient of this roadmap.  A BIG thank you to Toimimou Ibrahim from Comoros and Nina Kouassi from the Ivory Coast, both One Young World ambassadors, for developing the website. Nina is also Chair of the Communications and Publicity summit committee.

We are happy to welcome Oyewale Abioye (Nigeria) to the summit organising group as a UN volunteer, responsible for project managing the fundraising activities. He will form a team with other UN volunteers and, along with the fundraising team, Chaired by Samuel Duru (South Africa), lead an intense fundraising effort over the next 3 months. To help us with our fundraising we have set up a Global Giving account. Please help support young Africans attend the summit by giving whatever you can. Every dollar counts!  Thanks to Kevin Nnadi (Nigeria), Director of International Centre for Accelerated Development for setting this up.

If you are interested in partnering us in our summit by helping in its organisation and perhaps sponsoring youth activists please contact Oyewale at oyewaleabioye@gmail.com.

Please pass on this message through all your networks and social media.

many thanks
